Huawei and MTS signs a deal to develop 5G network

Huawei MTS 5G

The two leaders, Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the agreement, which will enable the Chinese multinational technology company Huawei to develop a 5G network in collaboration with the Russian mobile network operator MTS.

This action has been taken weeks after the Trump administration banned Huawei from deploying US high-tech equipments on its electronic products, however, Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei rejected the US reports, claiming it is an independent company.

The agreement between the two countries was signed in Moscow. This deal will enable the both companies to work on the development of 5th generation network which is expected to be completed by 2019-2020.  Vodafone has already launched its 5G network in the UK, now Huawei and MTS's 5G network may be available in China by the two next years.

Guo Ping, the Deputy Chairman of Huawei said in a statement, he was "very happy" with the agreement "in an area of strategic importance like 5G".

The decision taken by the two powerful countries may cause instabilites for Huawei, as it is not in a position to buy US hi-tech equipments required to develop 5G networks. As stated in the deal, Huawei and MTS will jointly develop the 5G network, so it will be easier for the said Chinese company to revolutionize the 5G network across the country.
