The rebranded phone of ZenFone 6 to arrive in India as 'Asus 6z' on June 19

asus 6z

Taiwanese tech giant and innovation driven company Asus was recently hit by a Delhi High court order over the trademark issues that prohibited it from selling or advertising the products with the Zen branding. The court ruling led the company to chose the only left option i.e Asus 6z. Now ZenFone 6 will be launched as Asus 6z.

The most recent page of e-commerce unicorn website Flipkart, a separate page designed to serve the ZenFone 6, has listed the it as Asus 6z. However, the official website of the company still sticks with ZenFone 6 (ZS630KL) coming soon.

We were able to independently verify the Flipkart page and it shows a message "Launch on June 19", which means that Asus 6z will be launched in the country on the same date as there are no trademark issues with 6Z. Asus has launched several electronic products in India before its rebranded phone.

The specifications and 'overview' mentioned on the Flipkart are the same as shown for ZenFone 6. Flipkart's page has made our verification process easier because the 6z URL includes "asus-zenfone-6-launch" keyword combinations.

As the company is celebrating its 30th anniversary with ZenBook edition 30, what options the company choose and how is it going to deal the newly introduced laptops with the Zen branding. All these questions will be unveiled on next hearing starting from July 10.

ZenBook 30 includes 64-bit OS processor.

Powered by the Windows 10 Home Basic operating system, the standard model comes with 13.3" full HD LED backlit IPS nano edge display integrated with LED technology, making it one of the best its second generation display technology-supported laptop.

To recall, Delhi HC restricted Asus to use the word "Zen" for its products, so it will be seen whether the company will still produce brands in the country with the "Zen" prefix.

Following the trademark issues with Zen Mobile, Asus may delay Zenfone 6 in India

zenfone 6 delayed

Zen Mobile (do not get confused with Zenfone), an Indian Telecare Network Pvt Ltd claims that the word "Zen" is the trademark of its company registered with the Government of India since 2008. Following the trademark of Zen Mobiles, the Delhi High Court blocks the Taiwan-based tech giant company Asus, saying that it can not sell its products in India under the word "Zen".

Earlier, Asus announced the launch of ZenFone 6 in India which was scheduled on June 19. The partners' retailer websites of the Asus indicated the same date. Since the court has temporarily blocked the company due to legal issues, now the company seems to have postponed the launch date of Zenfone 6 in the country.

The evidence presented in the court by the Telecare Network confirmed that Zen Mobile has been selling mobile phones under the company's brand ambassador Amitabh Bachchan since 2008.

Asus states, Zen is a common term associated to Buddhism, which can be used by anyone. However, the company has failed to provide convincing pieces of evidence before the humble court. The next hearing of the case is set to begin on July 10. Any smartphone, mobile accessories or other products under the word "Zen" might cause confusion in the minds of the public, says Zen mobile.

If they fail to clarify the situation before the court, then Asus may rebrand Zenfone, as the company will not have any other choice to sell its products having the prefix "zen". Asus is currently working with the Delhi High Court to resolve the legal issues that caused the company to delay the Zenfone 6 in the country.

After making a final decision on the trademark issue, the company is expected to announce more details about Zenfone brand.
